Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts 2018 Comes to a Close Back Back

The 10th Fajr festival of Visual Arts ended on Friday evening, 23 February. The closing ceremony was held in Vahdat Hall with the attendance of the Minister of Culture, Seyed Abbas Salehi, Mohammad Mojtaba Husseini, Deputy for Arts, Majid Molla Norouzi, Director General of Iran's Visual Arts Office, a number of visual arts figures and art lovers.
Seyed Abbsas Salehi, the Minister of Culture expressed that we should try to introduce visual artworks as cultural products to the society and this art shouldn’t be only associated with the upper class of the society.
Mojtaba Aghaee the Secretary of the 10th Fajr Visual Arts Festival, addressing the Minister of Culture about the special venue for the festival, suggested: "The existing venues do not have the capacity for the works of the artists, and there is an urgent need for a national gallery or festival palace to present a wide range of artists' participation."
Mojtaba Aghaee expressed: "In the Nations Exhibition of the Festival held in the ECO Cultural Institute, the artworks of 39 artists from 15 countries were presented in this exhibition."
In continuation, the Minister of Culture awarded 10 veteran Iranian artists in different field of visual arts during the ceremony. The medals and Golden Touba were presented to Hussein Mahjubi (painter), Habibollah Sadeghi (painter), Amrollah Farhadi (graphic designer), Abdolsamad Haj Samadi (calligrapher), Akbar Nikanpour (illustrator), Ali Divandari (cartoonist), Farideh Tathiri Moghadam (potter) and Hadi Shafaee (photographer), Hushang Jazizadeh (Painter), Iraj Mohammadi (sculpture).
This year 168 artworks from 57 countries were submitted in competition section in different categories, and a work of a Serbian Artist has been chosen among the ten select works.
